The third graders at Winn Brook School will be participating in a fun program called the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) Hop-a-Thon on April 15, 2016. The Hop will provide our third graders with an opportunity to use his or her muscles for those who can’t, and raise a little money, and more importantly- AWARENESS, for the MDA. In addition, to the Hop-a-Thon, we have been teaching lessons that promote the awareness and acceptance of children’s diverse needs and highlight the role that our community can play in assisting one another. It is a great way to reinforce our core values of respect and community! Our third graders will “hop” (step hop, jump on 2 feet, or hop on one foot) during a two-minute time period, while a recorder will count their total hops.
