164th MTA Annual Meeting of Delegates - Boston
May 9&10 2008
The convention will be held on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 11, in Boston, at the Hynes Convention Center.
Friday's agenda is:
7:45 to 6:00pm: Registration
8:00 to 12:30pm: Exposition
12:30 to 5pm: Business Session Convenes
Saturday's agenda: 9:00 to 2:00pm (approximately)
Business Session
Discussion and approval of MTA 2008-9 Fiscal Budget including MTA membership dues for the fiscal year.
The BEA is entitled to nine (9) delegates. The BEA will fund the cost for each of the delegates (parking, public transportation, and meals). Friday delegates would take an Association Day provided by Article 32.4 of the Teachers' Contract. Delegates need to commit to attending the two (2) days.
NEA/RA ANNUAL CONVENTION-Washington DC
June 30 - July 6
The BEA will fund two delegates to the annual meeting of the NEA to be held in Washington DC, June 30 to July 6.
BEA Executive Board approved the following:
The BEA will fund three delegates to the NEA-RA, each for up to $1000. The BEA delegates must also commit to playing a role in our Organization for at least one year (Building Rep., committee chair, etc.)

Nomination Sheet - Any BEA member is eligible to be nominated to represent the BEA at the MTA Annual or the NEA -RA.
If you are nominating a member for either position please fill out the nomination form 9 (you will need to print out the form). It must be signed by both the nominating member and the nominated member and forwarded to Sue Gorman, BEA Election Chair.
